Pierre Morrisseau

I am the third child of Norval Morrisseau and Harriet Kagegamic. I live in Keewaywin, Ontario. I paint just a little but have always been interested in my father's work.
It was a pleasant surprise when I and my siblings were invited back to Red Lake to take part in the Red Lake Heritage Museum symposium on the work of my father and other Woodland artists. It was a memorable event as I met with many artists who worked with my father: Goyce Kagegamic, Saul Williams, Paddy Peters and others.
I believe strongly that the actual legacy of my father's work belongs to and with the family and his Native background. The Morrisseau Family Foundation should work to that end - it has my support.
